Privacy Policy
Last updated August 22, 2026
Travl exists to tell you how many days you have spent in a country. That requires a small amount of data and nothing more. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
What we collect
Location signals. Travl uses coarse, low-power location changes to detect which country you are in. We derive a country and a date from that signal. We do not store precise coordinates or a movement history within a country.
Trip and profile data. The nationalities you add, your entry and exit dates, and any trips you enter or edit manually.
Diagnostics. Anonymous crash and performance reports, used only to fix defects.
What we never collect
We do not collect or store passport photographs, passport numbers, document scans, visa documents, contacts, photos, or payment card details. Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your card information.
How your data is processed
Day counts, rolling-window calculations, and limit checks are performed on your device, so they work without a network connection. If you enable backup or sync, your trip data is stored encrypted in transit and at rest so it can be restored to a new device.
Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We use a limited number of processors for crash reporting and, if you enable it, cloud backup. They act on our instructions only.
Retention and your rights
Your trip data is kept for as long as you use Travl. You can delete individual trips, or delete your account and all associated data from within the app at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, or export of your data. Email privacy@travl.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Travl is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes materially, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. Questions can go to privacy@travl.app.
